When our CEO Eddie Edwards posted a video that CommScope had cancelled its presence at MWC based on safety and well-being of our employees, I felt a sense of relief. I knew it wasn’t a decision that CommScope or any business leader took lightly but the uncertainty wasn’t worth the risk to employees or the business.
Most of my colleagues across the industry agree. We do, however, confess to missing the energy of the world’s biggest trade show of its kind. Every year there’s the “humble brag” on the number of MWCs one has attended. I think the most I’ve come across is 21! Despite the long hours, it continues to be an invaluable opportunity to network, experience the ‘next big thing’ and really understand the types of technology needed for the world’s most advanced networks.
But the show must go on. Connectivity underpins economic growth. This is our chance to take advantage of the network and do the next best thing – captivate an audience in a virtual setting. The CommScope Digital Forum taking place on 17 and 18 of March will showcase unmatched capabilities gained from our 2019 acquisition of ARRIS and Ruckus. Our executive leadership and subject matter experts will share ways to deploy 5G smarter and faster. They’ll show new innovation that helps network operators grow their enterprise business.
I’m excited for the 5G technology revolution and the potential benefits it will bring society. Check out this recent interview I did with Telecom TV for more on how our customers can get ready for consumers’ insatiable demand for connectivity.
